I have a genuine problem with security questions - you know, the kind that ask about your favorite movie, the street where you grew up, the person you first kissed, or where you like to go on holiday. I simply cannot recall the answers or my choices change from day to day. I find it astonishing that people have such constancy or even such clear memories of the past. Right now, I am reading the History of Civilization very, very slowly. I think life is a "safety not guaranteed" endeavor and reminiscence is a slippery slope we need to tread with caution. While we are selfish, egotistical brutes, perhaps such things as humanity and love do exist in slivers in hidden troves at perilous fringes of our existence that we cannot even hope to find along the well-worn paths.
