Wow. this is deeply impactful at least to me.

My son recently graduated with a degree in History. He is considering 2 different advanced degree options (or possible none) and since I only promised to pay for the Bachelors Degree he is making a careful decision and getting some career experience in at least one of those fields before borrowing money to continue his education, or not.

He and I recently had a conversation with a family friend who was less than complimentary regarding my son's degree choice. He stated that a university degree should be vocational in nature, something along the lines of pursuing an ROI to justify the cost. My son's response was that a world full of ignorant Engineers and Doctors will give us a very high powered 4th Reich or Soviet Union. He them said "What do you think we are seeing in China right now?" I have never been more proud.

Woke up early today so I could bask in the delight of my tree. There is something special about all of it. I'm so grateful for all of the amazing people in my life. And somehow this tree represents that.
