Of course Forbes gets the cause wrong ("institutional racism" ), but the data is interesting. 41% of Black-owned small business just got wiped off the map ("shuttered" to use their term) by the lockdowns.

Convenient that just when record employment and business ownership by the Black community was taking shape, we get the lockdowns. What industries did the lockdowns hit hardest? Food service (restaurants, bars, breweries, food trucks, delivery, catering, etc) and personal care services (hair salons, barbers, nail parlors, spas, massage, etc.). All businesses with a higher-than-average level of non-white ownership as well as a significant level of non-white employment.

We certainly can't have the DNC voter base becoming independent of the government. We certainly can't have them building wealth. That would ruin the Party. Looks like the Left did well ensuring another generation or two of rampant welfare dependency among their base.
