Flash back to 1968-69 Hong Kong flu
Although I was a 5th grader at this time, we went about our daily life. Nothing was closed down and we went to school. There were recommended guidelines for healthcare workers, but there were no masks, goggles or social distancing for the general population. And now, according to the CDC, the 1968-69 virus (Hong Kong flu) is still with us as a seasonal flu. I am no epidemiologist, but I can reasonably deduce that covid-19 will likely be sticking around. I long for the day covid peters out.
