My friend and I went to a firing range for the first time today. In fact, it was the first time I fired anything more than a paintball, and my friend had only fired airsoft. It is an indoor range and the staff were very friendly and helpful. We had a great time and we'll go back again, maybe with more friends if we can talk them into it.
We shot the following (please excuse the vagueness of some of these, I'm still learning): 9mm Walther PPQ, 9mm Glock, 1911, AR-15 (apparently a frankenstein), pump shotgun (with both birdshot and buckshot), Ruger 10/22, IWI Tavor 5.56mm, .44 Magnum.
I've been thinking about this for a long time, but I've now finally decided that I should own a firearm (or a few). Going to the range removed the last of my doubts. I've accompanied Dave down the path from being leftwing to being not leftwing - or whatever I am nowadays - and that includes my beliefs about firearms.
It takes a long time to go through the required process here, but hopefully in about...
