I keep hearing the words UNDERLYING MEDICAL CONDITIONS.
That's who should be scared.
Okay. But I don't hear many people talking (yet) about which of these underlying medical conditions - let alone what percent - are PREVENTABLE, a.k.a. our own damn fault.
Put another way, how many of the people who have died, who have sent the whole world into a tailspin, brought this on themselves by a series of bad habits, multiplied by a lack of wisdom, raised to the power of ignorance.
I know this sounds harsh. I don't know, pretend I'm Jordan Peterson for a moment. Stick with me.
Number one risk factor: old age. This is not a habit, or a decision. It can't be prevented (though it can be mitigated by a lifetime of healthy as opposed to careless habits). But allowing us all our own liberty and self autonomy to do with our bodies as we choose, what we all lacked under this risk factor - including the old AND the young - was a healthier acceptance of our own mortality. I couldn't find the newly released Thomas Sowell documentary so watched this instead for the 1st time. Remarkable! Maybe his work will finally sink in as Affirmative Action on steroids is attempted. At the time, we were aware, particularly in the '80s, and had like opinions to his, but were disconnected from the struggle and thought it would sort itself out in the most affected communities.
So sad to hear about the passing of my friend, my mentor and my bonus grandfather, Larry King.
