I’m sorry that this mans life has been turned upside down by this experience, but to me, this is one more example of people trying to make government compensate for random tragedies of life. Had the police not opened fire this man may have been held hostage or even killed by this criminal. He survived without any physical injury. He should be thanking the officers for there efforts rather than suing for money because he was involved in a traumatic experience.

I would support government providing funds to fix his shop and equipment, and to pay for therapy for him. But more than that goes to far in my opinion.
