Ok friends, let’s be intentional and specific with our language. “Protestors” are not being arrested on college campuses, criminals are.
If you are on private property and the owner/representative of that property doesn’t want you there, you have to leave or you are trespassing. If you are on public property and you engage in destruction of property, disturbing the peace, and impeding the access rights of other people, you have a whole bag of goodies for which to be arrested.
This is not an attack on free speech or your right to assemble. If we let media change our language and turn us into hysterical nut jobs, we’ve already lost.
Oh, and an interesting observation: if you drew a Venn diagram with 3 circles—glaring hypocrisy, people who were pro-COVID-lockdowns, and people upset about the treatment of university protesters—you’d likely have a single circle. In other words, spare me your decrying the lack of leniency for protesting on college campuses as an attack on individual freedom when you’ve already welcomed the boot of authoritarianism into your living room.

However, I am in pastry school right now and here's my latest assignment (plated dessert) we had to use modeling chocolate and candied orange peel and caramel and a tuile and a poached pear.
