I guess some of you have by now watched the scene in the oval office yesterday, before the president signed the ExOrder against the platform wrongdoings.
What I found especially remarkable is something AG Barr said:
The Social Media Giants have become big by telling the people "This is free for everybody, come join us, we love diversity" etc.
Now they ARE big and control the communication market, and all of a sudden they have made up their minds, as it were, and some of the diversity is actually not welcome and gets eradicated.
Barr called it "bait and switch", and that's exactly what happened.
It's a kind of fraud, and a big one, imho. Had they not taken the path of inclusivity first, acting just as a neutral forum, not a publishing business, and had they not taken advantage of the quasi immunity with regards to improper content, they could have never become so big in the first place.
That's why it would be wrong to now let them off the hook, saying "Gee, OK, so then...
