Anyone can be angry their team lost this week. Anyone can rejoice because their team won.
Anyone can think the Lord is on their side because their candidate won. Anyone can think the Lord will avenge them because their candidate lost.
Anyone can be afraid. Anyone can be smug.
Anyone can think they are in the right. Anyone can think the other side is wrong.
But not everyone chooses to love and trust God in the middle of it. Not everyone has peace because they know Him.
Not everyone chooses to love those on the other team and treat them as valuable and worthy, made in the same image of God they themselves were.
What if instead of being angry, rejoicing, scared, or smug this week, we loved God and loved others for real?
What if we were different instead of trying to make a difference?
