So I'm sitting here watching the video on Jenner and particularly the part of DeSantis and social media. So I must share this. We don't need to new laws around banning and so forth.
We just need to treat these companies fas what they are: slum landlords. Hear me out (or, well read in this case).
If you lease/rent a home, you are leasing/renting from (almost always) a private company. Can that private company just up and decide while you are out shopping to change the locks, keep your property, and say "well you broke our guidelines so you're out"? No, they can not.
Yet this is precisely what places like Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube are doing. Think about it. Content you produce is your "intellectual property" per existing law. By locking and banning you, and thus keeping you from your property they are doing the very same thing a landlord would be doing.
So let us treat them under the law the same way. A landlord has to specify and prove what you did that broke exactly ...
