Today I noticed ...

The world is full of Karens. Strip away the racism, misogyny and ageism of the Karen meme, and you find a Karen is a scold, someone who is annoyed or bothered by others and is happy to tell them about it. A Karen feels disrespected by innocuous behavior and must speak to the manager.

Isn't this the same as the entire cancel culture? You say something that I disagree with and you are disrespecting my world view, disrespecting me. I must then speak to the manager and demand action. In the case of cancel culture, the manager might be the manager or it might be the twitter mob. Either way, it is an appeal to authority. And that authority must DO SOMETHING, because I have been offended, disrespected.

The next time a twitter warrior calls you out on social media, hit 'em where it hurts. "OK Karen"
