I was thinking about our community's reaction to the Bubba Wallace noose story. How many of us assumed that we were being worked the second that we heard it? I did not see a single person on this forum discuss how horrible it was, but instead every commentor, myself included, suggested that we would find it was a hoax within a short time.

Have we gotten so used to the combination of lies and emotional manipulation that we have become overly cynical? Is it being overly cynical when we usually get things right?

I don't know what is worse; my initial reaction that NASCAR and the press were lying to further a narrative and benefit themselves in a perverse way, or that it was correct.

I would give anything to be able to see this world through the eyes of a child again, and have a world that matched.
