For those that may not have read this book - Lincoln at Gettysburg: The Words that Remade America (Simon & Schuster Lincoln Library) - it won a Pulitzer and National Book Critics Circle Award.

In a masterly work, Garry Wills shows how Lincoln reached back to the Declaration of Independence to write the greatest speech in the nation’s history.

Originally published 1992/93 and then a paperback was published in 2006.

A very detailed read about how President Lincoln, worked so diligently to address language and the right words to meet any and all occassions without completely giving to the liberals/progressives of the day.
