Here’s the latest YA author to pull her book pre-publication for not “staying in her lane.” The absurdity is that Publishers Weekly wrote that she was pulling the book but then RETRACTED their article and apologized for the harmful piece. This is getting so nutty. I felt bad for the author until I saw her photo. So she’s part of the “we need diverse books” non profit group who regularly bulky authors. They’re eating their own but far too slowly for my taste. I’m considering 1) writing a brief article about this and posting it on Medium or 2) start a blog about this kind of industry stuff or 3) try to get it published though that’s the frustrating way to go. Or should I do actual paid work and try to erase this from my mind?
