Local site Charlotte Agenda, which used to focus on local happenings suchas upcoming events, new restaurants/bars, local sports, and community service opportunities, has now switched to more political articles during the age of COVID... this story has just about pushed me over the edge. Stop normalizing homeslessness. This isn’t freaking San Francisco. People don’t willfully move to into tents on the side of the road (unless you’re the one crazy 50 year old woman who chose to live out there whom they managed to find). Most homeless were forced into it due to a drug addiction, job loss, etc. This is SAD not something that you should be writing a feel good, artsy article about. This quote about the 170 tents in this one area in Charlotte makes blood shoot out of my eyes: “if this were happening during a non-pandemic times you’d see this be cleared by police... it has made homeslessness so visible”. Well, YAH it’s best if they’re at a shelter where they can be fed instead ...

This is why God gave us sunsets. To say good bye to a troubled day. God gave us sunrises to welcome a new day filled with hope. Hugs to everyone. I am always thinking of you all 🌻
